But here in the twelfth we aren’t only dealing with one’s personal unconscious but the collective unconscious as well. Mars in the twelfth house may be the one to act out all of the unexpressed anger of those around him. The battles he ends up fighting may not even be his own, and this is where Trump is hooked into the collective unconscious, the collective shadow.
As David Brooks writes;
"When Trump is striking populist chords, he appeals to people who experience an invisibility." He appeals to members of the alienated middle class who believe neither the rich nor the poor have to play by the same rules they do."
Brooks goes onto write;
“Never before have we experienced a moment with so much public alienation and so much private, assertive fragile self-esteem. Trump is the perfect confluence of these trends. He won't be president, but he's not an aberration. He is deeply rooted in the currents of our times."
